About This Course

This course is designed for those who have little or no Linux experience and who are seeking a fundamental understanding of the SUSE Linux Enterprise operating system. This course prepares you to take the Certified SUSE Administrator (SCA) exam. If the exam is passed it will result in a SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) in Enterprise Linux certification being granted.


In this course attendees install and configure SUSE Linux Enterprise and are introduced to a range of commands and utilities. The topics covered include:

  • Install SUSE Linux Enterprise
  • Understand and manage the Linux filesystems
  • Use common commands and access documentation
  • Use the VIM editor
  • Configure and use remote administration
  • Understand the system boot process and systemd
  • Manage processes and schedule tasks
  • Manage processes and schedule tasks
  • Create users and configure access controls
  • Install and manage software
  • Create and manage storage
  • Configure logging and perform basic monitor tasks


Attendees do not require any previous knowledge of Linux. Familiarity with using a PC would be an advantage.
